Tanaman yang telah digunakan Suku Inka selama ribuan tahun ini kini menjadi bahan penelitian intensif untuk aplikasi skincare modern.
Utilization of Sacha Inchi Shells as a Natural Scrub Ingredient for Cosmetics
Sacha Inchi (*Plukenetia volubilis*) shells are a natural material with the potential to serve as a scrubbing agent (exfoliant) in cosmetic formulations. This article discusses the chemical composition and physical characteristics of Sacha Inchi shells, the benefits of using them as a natural scrub, and their advantages over synthetic exfoliating agents. Supported by scientific data and examples of commercial applications, the document outlines the potential use of Sacha Inchi shells in products such as facial scrubs, body scrubs, exfoliating soaps, and face masks. Additionally, recommendations regarding usage percentages in various cosmetic formulations are provided (e.g., 1–5% for facial scrubs, 3–10% for body scrubs), based on industry practices and existing literature.
